For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat.
I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink.
I was a stranger and you invited me in.
I was sick and you looked after me.
I was in prison and you came to visit me.”
    Matthew 25:35-36

The Ministry Center is a Christian based ministry sponsored by Tulsa area churches.

The Ministry Center began as the Tulsa Baptist Ministry Center during the 1980s. Following a devastating fire in 1998, the center was rebuilt under the volunteer direction of Allan Davis. When the rebuilding was completed in May of 2000, the center was reopened as The Allan Davis Ministry Center. In 2007 the ministry was renamed again to its current name, The Ministry Center at the Allan Davis Building.

In 2013, over 12,000 people were helped through this ministry that provides:

    •    Quality clothing to each member of a family
    •    Staple food items
    •    Vouchers for prescription medication
    •    Christian guidance
    •    Bi-weekly medical clinic
    •    Shower facilities for homeless clients

No Such Thing as a Coincidence! At The Ministry Center (TMC), we don’t believe in coincidences, only “God- cidences.” God-cidences are those happenings that you know without a doubt were orchestrated by God. A specific God-cidence happened at a medical clinic held at The Ministry Center...

A 37-year old single mother of five had made an appointment for her fiancé at TMC’s medical clinic. She nagged him into coming, as she knew his health was bad. She failed, however, to schedule one for herself. She had been off of her blood pressure meds for over a year, as she couldn’t afford the cost to see a doctor. She “controlled” her pressure by taking an aspiring and lying down when she felt her blood pressure might be high. She had been trying to get into the Indian Health Clinic but had not been successful. We scheduled an appointment for her at our next clinic which was in two weeks.

As she was sitting with her fiancé speaking with one of our intake interviewers, she had a strong and immediate episode and felt very sick. When we took her blood pressure it was 220 over 140! She was taken immediately to see our clinic doctor, where she was treated and given the life-saving meds that she needed. Our physician indicated that she probably would have died or had a stroke before the next clinic, had she not been treated that day.

Was it a coincidence that this woman had a strong, immediate episode at the very time she was at The Ministry Center, while a doctor was there? Absolutely not. It was a God-cidence.

An appointment is required for clients. Call 918-585-5310 to make an appointment. Each client completes an intake interview with a staff member who will evaluate their circumstances and determine the ways the Ministry Center can help.

Special Projects

Help Needed

We are blessed with lots of donations this time of year, but need help in sorting through the abundance. Regular volunteers are needed Monday through Thursday in the clothing sorting area. If you can put in a few hours each week, your help would be greatly appreciated. Pick hours convenient for you between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM. For more information, contact Alice Bones at alice@ministry-center.org.

Service Opportunities

Children's clothing and children's coats are desparately needed! Our shelves are bare. As you are cleaning out your children's closets, please remember The Ministry Center for the donation. Donations are accepted at the Center during regular service hours (Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.). Or donations may be taken to South Tulsa Baptist Church Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

The Ministry Center is the perfect place to adopt for a missions project. For example, preschoolers can collect mittens and gloves, or decorate bags that can be used to distribute groceries. School age children may want to have a drive to bring in outgrown coats and boots for donation. Other groups may choose to collect small toiletry items such as shampoo, soap, tooth brushes and tooth paste. All donations are tax deductible and appreciated.

Changes to the Food Stamp program have caused an increase in demand for services at The Ministry Center. Please consider hosting a food drive in your neighborhood, at school, at work, or at church.

Please prayerfully consider these opportunities for service. If you have any questions, contact:
